2007 National Conference

Bridging the Desert: The Middle East in the Next Decade
Omni Shoreham Hotel Washington, DC
February 1 - 4, 2007

The Middle East continues to grow in importance on the world stage, amid much uncertainty as to its future. Its economic base may well be threatened due to growing political instability and changing oil markets. However some governments, along with many individuals and non-governmental organizations are actively pursuing a future in which the Middle East is in a position of stability and power. This conference examined the diverse views and ideas while providing an opportunity for our members to engage in dialogue with representatives from across the Middle East.

The conference included embassy receptions; luncheon roundtables with foreign ambassadors; plenary sessions; panel discussions; workshops; and keynote addresses for a stimulating and provocative four days.
