The World in Transition workshop hosted by the World Affairs Councils of America provides teachers with a unique opportunity to meet with decisionmakers and academics working on a particular region of the world. The workshop in Washington, DC does not focus on how to teach using World in Transition, rather it is a content based workshop giving teachers more information about their subject.
Teachers currently using the World in Transition materials are welcome to apply.
THe 2008 workshop will be held July 8-11, 2008 in Washington, DC focused on Persia. The workshop is sponsored by the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian-Americans (PAAIA).
The 2006 workshop held on June 20 - 23, 2006 in Washington, DC focused on Africa. The worskhop is generously sponsored by Ambassador William C. and Mrs. Ann Harrop and the Nelson B. Delavan Foundation. View the agenda here.
WACA held a Teachers' Workshop on the European Union in Washington, DC from June 28 through July 1. It was a professional development workshop funded by a grant from the European Union.
