The National Board provides overall direction to the World Affairs Councils of America.
Before joining the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston, Maryanne served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Houston Technology Center, where she was responsible for strategy, management, and operations for the nonprofit organization. Maryanne's responsibilities included oversight of client services, corporate fundraising, community affairs, marketing and communications, and staff development.
Previously, Ms. Maldonado presided as Head of Trade and Investment and Head of the International Energy Team for UK Trade and Investment at the British Consulate General. Prior to working with the United Kingdom, Ms. Maldonado served as Trade Commissioner for the Department of Foreign Affairs with the Canadian Consulate, and opened the Consulate's trade office in Houston.
Ms. Maldonado holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Business Management from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Maryanne loves to travel, learn about new cultures, and to meet people from all around the world.
She is passionate about helping others to succeed, and feels that the mission of the World Affairs Councils to participate more effectively in the global world aligns closely with this goal.
